Well said. Operating systems are a matter of personal preference. None of them are prefect; Linux is too complicated for most end users, Windows is prone to viruses and malware and Mac OS is very costly.

In essence operating systems inherit the worst traits of the companies/individuals who manufacture them. Linux is great for techies but makes a "WOOOSHH" sound as it flies over Average Joe's head. Windows is pretty easy to use but forces sub-par standards onto it's users and says "like it or lump it!" Mac OS X is sexy looking and very easy to use but it's designer status and tight-as-an-eskimo's-nadsack approach to what hardware you can run it on means it's too expensive an option for many.
